We now return to your regularly scheduled rantings…

Now that the Day of Remembrance for the victims of 9/11 is over with,it’s time to move on. To do that, I am calling on everyone in Left Blogtopia (y!sctp) to stop allowing Bush and his cronies to continue using 9/11 as justification for their failed policies of the War on Terror. I know many, if not most of you, have already been doing this for, well, since 9/12.

Personally, I am sick and tired of the Administrations constant bleatings about how Iraq was in bed with al-Qaeda and somehow responsible for 9/11. Disney’s recent farcical look back at how 9/11 came to be is just one more example of how widespread this problem is. Let me say it again for those of you too thick to have gotten it the first time: 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq!

I am also sick and tired of seeing the constant attacks on my brethren of the Left being called out as traitors and so on. Thankfully, that is slowly changing as more and more Democrats and Independents fight back. Although Paul Hackett lost in his bid to win Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District special election against Jean Schmidt, he did help energize those “Fighting Dems” to fight back against the straw-man attacks from the Right abouthow Dems are weak on terror. What Paul Hackett started, many others are in line to finish.

Today, here in Miwaukee and across the country, is Election Day. The primaries being held today will have a definite impact on the Midterm Elections in November. Current polls show Democrats winning the House and possibly taking back the Senate as well come November. This is only a start, people. We need to get involved, stay involved, and continue pressuring our leaders to fulfill the duties they swore to carry out. They work for us, not the defense contractors, not the oil companies, not any other big business entity. It’s high time we remind them of that. Today, and again in November, is our day to let them know it, and know it they will. Iraq IS a quagmire and we are slowly losing the battle for Afghanistan too while President Chimpy McFlightsuit continues to threaten Iran. Our Armed Forces, once considered a noble profession, are rapidly dwindling because of Bush’s failed Iraq policy or lack thereof.

It’s time to make those bastards who continue to slander us, pay. It’s time to take back our country and return it to what it once was. It’s time to stop using a national tragedy for political gain. It’s time to start living up to the promise of “All men are created equal”. It’s time to FIGHT!

As the lead singer of one of my favorite bands says, ARE YOU WITH ME?
